Acceptance

This is who I am
me with stained hands
the shattered smile
the ebony bones.
When you touched me this is what I was
nothing has changed for me.
I was scarred from the first day
you once loved this swallowed heart.
How can you say that I'm unkind now
not..me?
What mask did you buy?
When you loved me..this is what you knew
and wanted.
It has always been me, who I am.
this is what you touched
and this is what you will leave
